You're Blessed When You Care
  The Pampering Place

“For in Christ, there is all of God in a human body, so you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ.”   Colossians 2:10  -TLB

The Pampering Place sits on the corner of 23rd & Psalm.  You may have passed it on your way getting to Proverbs or seen it down the road at the end of Job. As you enter this place of  'I shall not want', your Caretaker welcomes you with open arms. In His divine Providence, you will find what you need to be healthy, happy and wholly in Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "...for he cares for you", which is a promise of truth letting you know you are in the right place! So pack up all your worries and cares, to get ready to hand them over to God. He'll take good care of them and you. That's a promise!

He Will…

I am learning to live in the statement. The Bible is filled with He will blessings and promises of God. When you venture on the corner of 23rd & Psalm, you will find God's Pampering Place appropriately named, "I shall not want".  The name is fitting because everything you desire, wish or long for is provided and afforded to you.  Our Caretaker is our Jehovah Jiraha (God our Provider).

Believing He will is a condition of certainty (without fail or doubt).  He will, certifies he will do what he says, because his Word is universal in giving life to everything that was created.  Being fed, comforted, refreshed and anointed are just a few of the certainties.  I can tell you from personal experience that you will never receive personal care like this anywhere else!  And since I frequent this place, I can testify to the mighty work and power of God in my life.  I didn't always feel this way. I used to window shop 23rd & Psalm, not taking time to go in and check it out.  While I desired the look of being pampered, I didn't believe I deserved to be pampered.  It wasn't until I hit a wall called burnout that I realized being pampered is not an extravagance. It is a necessity!

Frequenting God’s Pampering Place ensures we get what we need.  Experiencing burnout, there’s a need to be cared for to receive healing, restoration and reinvigoration. God has an endless supply of supernatural resources to pour into us but we have to come to him to receive it and when we do, we are so blessed and happy in the experience.
He will is a blessing and a promise. When we truly believe ‘He can’ and ‘He will’, we will grow in our knowledge and our faith knowing without a doubt, He will!

He lets me rest...

He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures

From his abundance we have received one gracious blessing after another. John 1:16

He leads me...
beside the still and restful waters

He refreshes me...

He refreshes and restores my life

(my self)

He walks with me...
in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him

He protects me...

though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me

He comforts me...
Your rod [to protect] authority and Your staff [to guide] loving guidance

He feeds me…
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies

Do you remember as a child being told to eat all your food?  We learn at an early age the importance of good nutrition.  In being equipped for our divine appointment, we need spiritual nourishment. Feed means to supply was something necessary (as to growth).  Galatians 5:22 states the Holy Spirit is our supplier, one who produces spiritual fruit in our lives.  How does he do this?  He guides our life. When we let him guide us, he gives us desires that are opposite of what our sinful nature desires and directs us away from things that have no eternal value (Galatians 5:19- 21).

Produce is a term used for fruits and vegetables. Produce is also defined to bring forth, as in yield.  Yield in this case, means to bear or to be productive bringing good results.  In 2 Corinthians 9:10 we learn God supplies us with the seed and the bread to eat.  As our supplier, He provides and increases our resources, and then produces a great harvest of generosity (a yield) in us.  The therapeutic benefit of being fed this way brings glory to God.

He anoints me...

You anoint my head with oil

It was customary in hot climates to anoint the body with oil to protect it from excessive perspiration. When mixed with perfume, the oil imparted a delightfully refreshing and invigorating sensation. Athletes anointed their bodies as a matter of course before running a race. As the body, therefore, anointed with oil was refreshed, invigorated, and better fitted for action, so the Lord would anoint His "sheep" with the Holy Spirit, whom oil symbolizes, to fit them to engage more freely in His service and run in the way He directs--in heavenly fellowship with Him.

He blesses me...
Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life

He lives in me...
and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.”
